I have finally had time to strip the lamp down. It looks like it has the letter N stamped on the rim of the fount. Does that mean anything to...
I’m looking to stabilise the shade it came with. It will only be able to be used for display purposes and then I’ll use another globe for running....
New globe on its way!
It’s very likely. The gap at the threaded joint you can see in the image is replicated at the point of each burner tube. Not had chance to look at...
I’d hoped so. With the presence of a spare burner and gallery someone had intended to repair it but it’s seemingly been lost in time.
I thought the same. The lamp itself looks to have had such little use I wonder if it’s been bought, rarely used, and then changed hands to someone...
Hoping the burner is a straight swap and it should clean up nicely! A good project for returning to the workshop in the spring.
A very very lucky find today on FB Marketplace. This KL80 cost little more than than the diesel required for the 3 hour round trip to collect it....
A rare evening with weather just about good enough to sit out. Burning a Turner 511 and Summit 266C. Good times! [ATTACH]
I’ve not seen one of those before. Great looking lantern!
@Tony Press - The hole in the glass is original manufacture as best I can tell. I think these did come with a Macbeth originally from what I’ve...
I was very lucky to pick up this Turner 511 on Marketplace last year and have been too busy to get it on the workbench since. A great lantern to...
Thanks Toby, yes I tried to run it but it wasn’t happy. It really did need a full strip down and clean. Would take some real mishandling to sheer...
Hi, I’ve got a Turner 511 stripped down and cleaned and ready to put back together. But I remember a few previous comments online about this model...
Yes the export versions from Nulite all look very similar. My Summit, a Dutch Nulite export has very similar features! [ATTACH]
Another glorious day in the UK so another light up. I could get used to this! Burning the Peebee tonight. Still not sure how to properly...
Finally feeling like spring! Burning a Coleman 200a and a Phoebus 615. Hope you are all getting some burn time! [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
It’s been way too long since my last garden burn. It’s still too cold for sitting out in the garden for long but I’ve got a big jumper on....
Yes, the heat is my concern too. As you say plenty of other lamps use metal but the 930 already gets very hot overall as standard.
