A portable work-light, rated at 200CP with donut tank.
According to some paperwork I have been sent, it could be used by workers who need a manoeuvrable light that is easy to maintain. Examples as such were railways, canals, docks, excavation-sights and farms.

Comparing its size to that of a Primus 392 table lamp.

    Great stuff, Frank!
I'm glad to see that you have been gentle with it, and tried to just conserve it as it is!
No painting of the tank, no 'refurbishing' what so ever, etc.

Apparently the colour they used on the tank don't really stand the test of times. It look pretty much as mine. Oh, well... we are talking about a century or more. But there are still some tiny streaks of the original blue colour there.
And I think that's the way it should be on these, well, almost museum items. No fiddling around and cheap spray painting, please.[-o<

Here's a link I posted some years ago to the correct mantles for this lamp

Below I attach an image from an undated catalogue where they show this lamp with the frame option both you and I have.
It's at least later than 1911 since they as usual are listing all prices they have received in the first pages, and the latest medal mentioned was from 1911.
I also think I remember a catalogue specified from 1915 with this framed version somewhere. I will rummage around.

I will post an entire catalogue soon enough as I get the time.

Just soap and hot water, like it should be in most cases!
Plus a gentle wipe down with a cloth afterwards is all I've done. I kept as many of the original items that I could; I was able to salvage the pump leather, the jet and the burner mesh. Alas, the NRV arrangement as seen on other Lux stoves needed to be replaced in its entirety. May have been the very reason the lamp was put away in the first place!

Many thanks! It's always a pleasure to have a complete gallery post with plenty of additional catalogue pages.

And I shall look forward to it!

As this lamp goes, it was a case of going full circle for me: I have been an avid enthusiast of lighthouses since 2005/2006; it just happened to be that Lux supplied lighthouse stations with the adequate mantles and burner set-ups when these were equipped with gas light at the beginning of the 20th century. And to find that the globe on this lamp has a lighthouse logo etched into it - is the icing on the cake in my opinion! Christer, does your example also have this etched logo?

    Many thanks for your compliments!
It's a fine lamp and a very welcome addition to my humble collection!

Ah! You will know of the "Lighthouse Stevensons" then? The famous Scottish family that pioneered lighthouse design and building on places considered impossible? ..Ask @JEFF JOHNSON who lives near one of their lights (i think? oh god i hope so[-o<)...apologies Jeff

No, I can't find it on my globe. But I have some parts missing in my glass, so it is a tiny possibility it has been there.
The logo you show us is for the German glass maker Schott.
They used this symbol back then. I think it might actually be a smoking chimney - not a lighthouse - to connect to their glass works.

I love this lamp. Not a very common stuff, I suppose. And in the form as it should be.

This link shows relevant information and I reside within a few miles of two lighthouses.

Yessir! I do. Great Britain is home to many famous lighthouses and my aim is to visit a great deal of them in the next few years. I was recently able to add the famous lighthouse at Beachy Head to my virtual collection!

Lux made a few lamps that were available in this colour, amongst others the Autolux seen here.

You are correct Christer, the logo is that of a chimney associated with the glass maker Schott. I actually had a look online to check when the logo changed to include JENAer, and I just so happened to come across this document:
