It snowed here at home today, which is quite unusual here at sea level where I live in Tasmania. Out in the shed I was cold, so was working late today with a Tilley R1 and two kerosene lanterns (Tilley X246A and a Coleman 214). That made it quite comfortable: The little project I was working on today will end up over at CCS. The snow: Cheers Tony
Good bit of heat output from that lot. I also like the Sigg bottle too but can't make out if it is the early anodised type or the later whatever they did to it type which is bit glossier. Had an R1 out myself recently and because of dogs had it up on a bench and very nice standing anywhere in front. Snow at sea level in Australia; outstanding.
Iain That, unfortunately, is not a Sigg bottle (although it has a Sigg cap). It's a cheapish "Kathmandu" drink bottle that is badly bashed up, and I use it for metho. Marked "meths", and has a skull and crossbones... Cheers Tony
G'day Tony, Nice looking R1. In the shed with the heater and lamps going would be a good place to be on a day like that. They have been showing other photos of the snow in Tasmania on the news. Seems it was very wide spread. Has it cleared up around your place yet?
The snowfall at my place (sea level) only lasted a few hours, but the surrounding hills (and mountains) are still covered in snow. Snow fell to 100m overnight (last night), and looking out my window it looks like it's still snowing on the Snug Tiers about 3K away. Cheers Tony
Unlike the rest of the planet, we had quite a cold period. The huge low pressure systems around Antarctica were pushing cold air further north - and persistently. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/month/tas/summary.shtml Cheers Tony
