Hi all, I have a nice Akron Diamond with external fuel pump. NRV is leaking. I was able to remove the pump tube but … now I”m stumped. How do I remove the NRV to service it? I want to be very careful before I go plowing ahead. Much appreciated. PHotos below. Ulf
Hi, from all the NRV'S in my different tanterns, lamps something that holds the NRV in place always unscrews, but others here with greater knowledge would know more i believe, in my personal view, the pump tube of your Akron needs securing carefully so that the end that obviously holds the VRV can have some careful pressure applied to unscrew that end Anti-clockwise, have you looked down the pump tube from the end where the pump rod screws on to see if the valve comes out like a Coleman or many others?
Hi there, just FYI ... seems that the pump tube/valve/snorkel assembly in the Akron is all soldered together -- no removable anything. And what I called an NRV is really a check valve, a la Coleman lanterns. Mine was blocked with accumulated schmutz, so I took a cork, drilled a hole in it just large enough to insert the 'straw' of the Gumout can, and fired several blasts through the system and out the snorkel. The first two blasts covered me with black crap and Gumout, but soon it ran clear. Ball inside valve now rattled. I reassembled and so far the thing runs well. Ulf.
