Only in a kinda vague way. They are not date marked so I can only go with catalogue images which give some idea of a date range. Give me a picture and I will try.

Akron Diamond model 103 from around 1921-1924. The other lantern is a Coleman LQ327 from about the same period. ::Neil::

I see two Coleman and one Akron. Akron has the droopy S shaped generator. The Coleman with pricker in the generator is an early QL327 from around the early 1920s and the one with Coil generator is same model but a bit later from around 1923-24.

Ok so I did a little more investigating today and I could not find any markings on the fount of the coleman lantern with the coil shaped generator although . I did find the same pattend dates of May 13 1919 on the coleman QL327 ok so same pattend dates but no markings on fount I then thought to myself maybe Coleman made this lantern for somebody else'after a little more cleaning and closer inspection I found sunshine safety lamp co After a more investigating I found it to be made between 1923 -1924 again thank you for your help George

Coleman did not mark anyhing on their tanks until October 1924 but they did mark the patent info on the air tubes from around 1919. Your lantern is not a Sunshine because they were marked and in any case Coleman did not make lamps for Sunshine between 1916 and 1923. The two Coleman lamps are just that, direct sales Coleman. They are possibly the best lanterns ever made as they combine simplicity with sound engineering. With almost no moving parts all they generally need is a clean and maybe a new generator and they work. ::Neil::

I assume you found the sunshine safety stamping on the baffle plate. Be very careful with the generator on that one. They are different them the coleman ones and not easily replaced.

    Nice early akron 103 also.

Coleman made product for Sunshine up to 1916 but from then to 1923 nothing. That 7 year period is when Sunshine sold Gloria and Nulite lamps. I don't know what happened but I assume that in 1916 there was some dissagrement between Coleman and Sunshine. In 1923 Coleman bought a stake in Sunshine and put two directors on the board and from then Sunshine sold Coleman product again. So any lantern marked as SS has to be after 1923. I think SS continued to sell some Nulite after 1923 but that may just have been clearing of old stock. ::Neil::

1443661591-IMG_0458.JPG It is know that sunshine bought Coleman made lanterns from 1913- 1928 under the presidency of W.C. Fowler when sunshine was bought by Coleman in 1927 the name was changed to sunshine products company in 1931 the Kansas city part of the company closed spc continued to operate to around 1935 in Chicago anyways it's a nice lantern managed to get it going but was short lived I let it run for at 30 minutes after it cooled down I refilled with Coleman fuel and nothing.
