Picked this up in an auction last weekend along with an X246B. (Sold as 2 x Tilley lanterns...)

Seems in reasonable shape except the control cock is all jammed up and have not been able to remove the vapouriser tube yet. Seems all brass construction with a nickel or chrome plating on top.

Cannot find any engraving of a brand / model / date except the remains of the Aladdin decal. (I imagine that will disappear when I clean the tank. )

Glass (globe) is branded Pyrex witha small crown symbol.

More than happy to receive any tips and/or advice!

    Hello there @Graham-Melbourne , you have a Aladdin 1A probably 1970's,
    It will clean up well,
The globe is original, the small crown is the last of the aladdin globes, cost cuts, the stencil on the tankmay stay if you are gentle, wash,
Vinegar is good to clean everything, but dont let it soak too long, tend to it regularly,
The vaporisor / preston loop can either be made of steel or brass, they work the same,
Your control wheel is probably gummed up with burnt kero residue like tar. Do not force it.
Remove the vent with the burner complete, you can deal with it later.
Use a spanner to undo the flange nut on the vap, it may take a small amount of force, or if you have the tools heat and quench, repeat it will come undone.
Be careful when removing vap not to bend or break the pricker wire / jet cleaner.
The control wheel unscrews from the fuel intake as a single unit, it has a cam on the end that when rotated lift or lowers the pricker.
The pricker rod with the ecentric can be removed
If you look in the lantern reference gallery you will find a lot of information and pictures, you can look for some of my posts, @Darryl Durdin .
You have a very cool lantern.
One other thing check the bottom ring of your lantern for stress cracks
    Happy fettling

I am fairly certain it is not from the 70s. This is the first variation after they stopped the painted tank version so it could be anywhere from the early 50s to the 60s. Again I am fairly certain (no proof) that the variation with the black enamel hood and aluminium sticker on the tank started in the late 1960s or early 1970s.

This looks similar to mine. Try to preserve what's left of the decal. These are nice tidy lantern.

Any luck removing the vapouriser tube? Mine is stuck tight and I need to replace the cleaning needle!

This one came out fairly easy but I had one stuck very firm in my R1 radiator. Someone suggested repeated heat & wrench cycles and that did the trick for me.

A soaking with paint thinners around threads (wrap strips of rag to hold it) may be enough to soften dried fuel
Or a gas mini torch should be enough used carefully to not melt solder on other parts
