Another Tilley Lamp Followed me Home

    I went out this morning and low and behold yet another lamp followed me home. :whistle:
    I was perusing FB market place and I saw this advertised for less than the price of a second hand globe on Evilbay and some online places and thought would be good for parts at least.
    When I got home I took out the plunger and needs replacing so swapped it over with another for the time being. Undone the fuel cap and kero went everywhere. It seems the previous owner had filled it to the brim then slanted it to put more in ](*,). I emptied 1/3 out on to some weeds that needed killing and decided to test the burner: see below (after reading a informative post by @Tony Press )

    It looks ok, well to me :-k will wait until it cools and throw a cheap BCF gas mate mantle on and see how it goes.
    Yet another project to work on lol.

    Hello Rob, it's a Tilley X-246-B lantern and there should be a date code on the base plate.
    Be careful not to over pump those lanterns because the base plates will distend.
    The light output can be improved and the link below shows information and photos on that subject just scroll down the thread.
