Hi everyone, this coated orange Austramax globe appeared on a Facebook Group. I’ve never seen one before. Are there any other examples? I couldn’t find any with a quick search.

I've never seen one. Coated by what, I wonder?

Are Austramax lamps any good? Thinking about maybe getting one soon, are parts as freely available like how with Coleman we have Coleman parts which sells genuine and reproduction parts

@Desolate_Place the Austramax was my first and still favourite lantern. I managed to visit the factory back in 2018 in Melbourne and bought a few from them, only closed in 2022. Picked up plenty of vintage variations since. Very easy to fettle, very bright and reliable. Some key parts still available from TW Sands in Vic who purchased most of there NOS spares when they closed. Get amongst em.

I agree with @Jason Storey . Austramax was also my first lantern. I’ve rarely needed parts but when I have, I’ve always found a donor lantern at a very reasonable price.
