Picked this 300X the other week, no markings on the hood just on the frame, apart from the Bi is missing and it just reads aladdin, assume this is just an error when stamping. The paint is original but I note that frame colour is a very very dark maroon, almost black, never had one with the colour so dark??
The cage may have been repainted, but that is a well built lantern and it should restore well enough.
It may have been aggressively polished in the past (and then repainted) which rubbed off the 'Bi' of Bialaddin. Either way it'll clean up very easily.
I think the paint is original, can’t see evidence that it’s been stripped. Could just be a defect during stamping.
