Bialadin 305, from 1954, unlit plus a AL21

Well, I was luck this week. I did have one pc of the same AL21 type from before, but the Bialadin 305 was new. And to my surprice, unlit and in very nice condition.

Nice finds. But now you have the dilemma , do you light the 305 or not !

 

Yepp, I know, that is a problem. But I think I need another 305 to light, keeping thisone as is. Think this 305 will be good for ref gallery, or?

Definitely put it in the reference gallery

 

For very unlit item that will be lit there are one less that is in unused state.
There are used ones to get to play around with.

Agree, there other 305's out there are already lit. Keep this one unlit!!

 

Hmmm... interesting dilemma. On the one hand, I think it needs to be used to fulfil it's purpose. If we found a new unused standard class five locomotive, I'm sure it'd be fired up!
On the other hand, a rare thing indeed. But there again, new toys unused in their boxes have a sadness to them....
For what it's worth, SWMBO reckons it should be left unlit.
If it were mine, it'd get it lit. Should we have a vote on it?

Well, the 305 will get a brother, one that I can fire without thinking that I shuoldn't!

So, the NOS 305, it will remain unfiered.
