After Cleaning I found Next to "RATAN" Scorpio Symbol is there, Un India there is bigger scam is there. The scorpion base lanterns are content of " Iridium " is this true or falls
Yes I know about this. From the PLC:- 286 East India Company 200cp “Baby” lantern. This was a CRIMINAL FRAUD or SCAM. A few of the apparent tanks for this model were created in 2014-2015 in India purporting to be from 1818 containing iridium and which gave them the ability to attract rice. They were called Rice Pullers and the perpetrators of the scam were trying to sell these lamp tanks for the metal content at hugely inflated prices. Several of the scammers were arrested and I would hope the fake tanks were destroyed but a few may have survived. The tanks appear aged, probably artificially, and are stamped or embossed on the tank side and in the base plate with two scorpion logos, 9 stars and “286 Original BABY 200cp 1818 Petromax KRZ001 year Regd EAST INDIA COMPANY” These are not real Petromax lanterns and never were. So be aware. The East India Co. in India lasted about 100 years but ceased trading in 1858 when Petromax lanterns were not even a twinkle in Max Graetz’s eye. ::Neil::

The lantern has cleaned up nicely Ashok. The story of the iridium lanterns was interesting to read. They certainly went to a lot of trouble.
