Hi all, This is a lamp I got in a lamp trade with a Russian lamp collector. It was earlier posted here on CPL a couple of months ago and you can see it here The lamp is a ca. 1910 "Meteor" lamp from the company of Theodore Kreingel, Vilna Luthiania. These lamps were aimed for the Russian an Turkish market and a couple of patents (privileges) were issued in Russia. Unfortunately I can't get hold these and maybe they are not digitized. From a German Technical Journal I got a patent drawing of that lamp even if that not shows the end result. This is a kerosene fed lamp with a tank very similar to that of the 1910 Primus 1005 lamp, seen here . The burner is however very different in style from the Primus lamp burner, but it uses the same type of loop burner with an upright mantle. Also the flame spreader arrangement is the same as on the Primus 1005 lamp and also other Swedish lamps as Lux DH and AB Aladdin Vesta lamp. The lamp came without the FS and I had to try to make one out of bits and pieces from my parts drawers. I also had to silver solder leak in the burner and a small pin hole in the tank. This is a very rare lamp and I have seen only a handful; most of them without the FS and most in a poor condition and "naked", without any glass or shade or any hanging lyre. In a 1911 catalogue page from a wholesaler/ in Odessa, you can see this lamp both as an outdoor lamp with a housing and as a hanging lamp with a tulip shade. I have dressed this lamp in a hanging lyre with bits from an old Primus lyre. The lamp did function well and gave a nice light, with that old stock gas mantle mounted. /Conny Meteor together with the Primus1005/1008 lamp ..... ......... and the also with Lux DH and AB Aladdin "Vesta" lamp Meteor drawing and from a 1911 Odessa catalogue
