Very pleased with this early 9-35 427K It took four months to get downunder from Canada but was worth the wait as it’s in amazing condition sporting original marked “Made in Canada” R55 gen and Coleman stamped mica Only needed a new fuel cap seal and a tighten of the fuel stem jamb nut and a light clean and it’s making fire again ! Running kero and it’s a blinder !
Wow @Akeepsake she’s a stunner. Well found and I know she’ll be a real treasure in your collection giving you pleasure for years to come. Enjoy Pete
@Akeepsake At some point you added a priming cup. Original to the lantern? Mine has a nick in the rim, apparently to hook a priming wick on. A beautiful survivor you have there. Such a contrast with my ‘patina-ed’ example! John
Hi John Preheat cup is original to this model as they are designed for kero and therefore need preheating Yes I have another Early Canadian 237 that has an asbestos wick that sits in a notch on the preheater cup
I wonder if it wouldn’t be too much trouble to take a photo of that cup/wick and post it here? I’d like to reproduce the assembly on mine. Thanks!
Hi John Here is a close up of the preheater cup asbestos wick on my 237 It’s dated A-38 and is the earliest known date of these Canadian models ( two only known and both found in Australia)
