I have a very early 246 brass cage small handle ,cage screws directly into the tank etc........im lookin a brass cap for it an old one if possible cos a new one might not look right ?? Im also lookin [if there is such a thing] a CHROME hanging frame for a chrome plated KL80 ?? also a chrome or stainless steel insect guard......ive not been able to upload photos ..it say theyr too big? Help....
I came on an old tank/pump etc for a miniature Tilley/stove? it was abt 5/6 inches across with 3 little hinged foldaway legs.. does anyone know how old these are and what were they used for..there was no burner or anything on it??
Hi Tomcat, I have sent you a message regarding caps for the early X246. Can't help with the KL80 hanging frame I'm afraid. The tank is almost certainly from a packaway camping stove such as a Primus or Optimus. The burners are detachable so it probably got lost. James.
Hi Tomcat You can use the image optimiser at the top of the page to reduce the size of your photos. If they are too large to upload to the optimiser you will need to retake them at a lesser quality on your camera, this should not impact too greatly for this purpose. Regards, Jeremy
Yes indeed, I saw one sell just recently. The one I have has a chrome bracket but the rest of the harp seems just to have been painted over. Looks OK but obviously I would like to have it all chrome.
Tilley offered a plating option, but it cost extra so most folk would not have bothered with it, hence the plated items are scarce. If you are a subscriber to this website, then the reference library is open to you and there are several Tilley catalogues shown there, Jeff.
