Hi all, do your pressurized lanterns burn clean?

I remember having a lantern some 30 years ago that burned so clean, I had it as a light/heat source on my small sailboat.
Now I bought Chinese Butterfly lampe that smokes and smells too much to use inside of my house.
Shouldn't they burn VERY clean if they are functioning properly?

    Thanks

They should burn clean if they are operating properly. A smelly lantern is not working correctly.

Yes - if they don't there's something wrong with them...
