Well done Colin, I think that looks pretty good and from the photos does throw out a decent amount of light for a small table lamp

The Coleman 128c is far brighter than I'd imagined for such an old lamp!

That is nice looking lamp. Consider clocking your valve another 180 degrees or the figure 8 instead. It will look even nicer then.

Looking good @ColinG like @bigredmf mentioned try clocking your figure 8 180 degrees. It's not only how Coleman would've had it, it might also improve the airflow to the burner

Good job I didn’t throw out that lovely shade holder Colin. Keeping one glass shade for you. BTW what have you been bottling?

Well done Colin. She’s running well and looks good with that shade.
    Cheers

@AussiePete the shade won't be permanent but it shows what it'll look like with a more fitting one.

And @Jean J we keep all our spices and herbs in Kilner jars. I think that one is our seed mix that we put on toast and honey on the morning. I bottle pickled shallots using a recipe I remember my granddad using.

    I agree with @Toby Garner
Same position of air tube holder at my Coleman CQ.

I somehow missed your advice about the position of the figure of 8 and the relative position of the air tube so it looks and runs better. I'll attend to that tomorrow. Thanks @Toby Garner and @bp4willi

    Another update!

Thanks to @Fireexit1 I now have a Coleman globe holder from Old Coleman Parts which holds an old globe I've been using on my Tilley table lamp. For the time being this will protect the mantles until I can pick up a fancy Aladdin opaque shade.

… picking up a Coleman shade would be better…

    Cheers

I know it would Tony, but cost is definitely an issue at the moment. I've bought a pretty Aladdin wickie shade from @Jean J ... I just have to pick it up!
