Hi everyone! I just finished an old 159x table lamp that needed a bit of TLC. I cleaned and lined the tank with fuel tank paint, replaced the filler seal, painted the font with epoxy spray paint which is pretty close to the original colour. I left the base in original with the stamp showing. I took a chance and didn't disturb the tap and generator and it fired right up with no leaks. A very nice lantern that gives off quite a bit of light!
@David Adair It's good to see these back up and running. What is the date stamp on this lamp? And is it Canadian? Cheers Tony
Hi Tony, That Lantern has 1 57 so I'm guessing Jan 1957 and its made in Canada. The rod for the Aladdin A1 arrived today. Quite clever putting it inside a old pen to keep it damage free. Thanks again. Cheers Dave
@David Adair David, it's cleaned up nicely, congratulations Are you running it on kerosene or Shellite? And will you provide a picture of the control cock (side view).
@David Adair Sorry to be a pest, but can you check it's not 1/52. There are at least 4 Aussie-found Canadians in the Reference Gallery that are dated 1/52 and I was wondering whether yours is from the same import order. Cheers Tony

That’s a handsome lamp and working well I’d not heard of fuel tank paint before? I take it that when you said you ‘lined the tank’ you mean on the inside ? regards, pb
Looks great and it is working well. Is it missing a spring clip to hold the globe in place? Mine has two of them.
Further to @ROBBO55 question re fuel, I take it you don't have the red air restrictor fitted and thus have used kerosene. Looks like it is running very nicely and a good restoration on your part.
i think some of these lamps came with the single clip. My lamp is running on kero and the tank is lined inside to stop the rust flakes
