Coleman 200A bail mounts.

I have this black band 200 A 6/1952 that is either missing or never ha d bail clips. I’ve seen pics of other black band lanterns sans clips which leads me to this question. Are they obtainable?

 

Could they have rusted off. In the top picture, it looks like the impressions of the actual clips on the top of 2 arms of the frame?
Coz if released by Coleman without bail clips, how would one transport / carry the lit lamp?

I'd make them. All you need is some thin steel plate,a hammer and some tin snips/junior hacksaw and the jobs done.

 

Wouldn't it easier (and maybe safer) to just buy a used or NOS frame and bail?

 

Definitely easier, bit not as satisfying.

 

Yes @ColinG, I reckon I’d make them too ...... very satisfying to use one’s skills to fix something.

 

A bail would still work without the clips but it would probably damage the vent. I can make them if needed. I was curious whether they were sold without them.
