This my Coleman 228J dated 10/78, complete with carry case and funnel.
Didn't have to do too much with it, dunk test was successful and it fired up first time after replacing the mantles which had got damaged in transit. I also had to replace the felt in the funnel as it was very thin in places.
It looked like it hadn't been used more than once or twice, and runs very well on panel wipe.
According to the Coleman 'Bible', this was the last model made in the 228 series, and also has a mottled white enamelled finish to the underside of the ventilator/reflector, instead of solid white, which mine has.
In the bottom of the carry case there is space for spare parts like mantles, a spare generator and a spanner, which I included when I knew it worked. Also included the instructions as well. Coleman228J_1078_1.JPG Coleman228J_1078_3.JPG Coleman228J_1078_4.JPG Coleman228J_1078_6.JPG

@JEFF JOHNSON , thanks, one of the reasons I bought it was because it came in a case, it was also a proven runner as pics in the listing showed.

@Fireexit1 , yes Chris I am, I'm pleased with all my lamps, and stoves (I've just put 3 military stoves on CCS), Coleman's are so different to the British/European lamps, yet work just as well on petrol, just have to be abit more careful with them because of the petrol.
