Seem to be, Think they only sold them in the USA for a short time, late 60's early 70's. Most Ash Flash lanterns here have Coleman replacement globes in them. I paid up for this lantern on evilbay mainly because it had original globe.
@gusto There is a gent, DarthShrek, on CCF that has quite a few Ash Flash lanterns. Contact him because he might be able to help. You can also check out CCF Classified section because the 1020 globes do show up now and then. If you can’t find an original Ash Flash globe a Coleman 220 globe will work. Cheers, Norman
@gusto You have my sympathy. A similar thing once happened to me. I'd asked the seller to remove the glass and pack it separately, he said not to worry and assured me the lantern would be well packed. It arrived rattling around in a heavy duty cardboard cylinder with 3 small pieces of scrunched up newspaper for packing, the lantern was undamaged but the glass with PRIMUS logo was shattered all because the seller couldn't be bothered to do as I had asked. I usually ask the sellers to fix the glass globe with duck tape to the cage. 360* This usually helps, is sufficient to fix the globe from shattering around. And easy to do for seller.
Hi Gusto, It's terrible to find the original broken glass on unpacking ! I have already experienced this on two lanterns: A Veritas 350A and a Coleman Canada N°339 i took me several years to find the original and expensive. Best regards, Titoo
I've had the Ash Flash for a few years. I was moving my boxed lanterns to a different location. When I picked the AF up and took a couple of steps the bottom opened up and lantern fell out. It looks like the Ash Flash boxes are designed so lantern can be accessed from either top or bottom. Terrible design if you ask me...lol Anyways I have a globe coming from a friend in a couple of weeks.
