I would advise against buying this lot from China as the same lamp was sold a few days ago by a UK seller: Unusual Old Tilley Looking Lamp but Made by B.A Hjorth & Co x | eBay
Good shout, there was a railway lantern on there the other day from China for something like £30 and free delivery, someone bought it while i ummed and ahhed, i wonder how they got on.
I saw that one @James there is something going on just at the moment, there seem to be a lot of scams from China. I think this is the one @MG is talking about? Link and the first time it sold Link. I have also seen an Optimus 00 stove being sold with a low buy it now from China with a zero feedback seller, currently you can go with the old "If it looks to good to be true, it probably is" but there's nothing to stop them setting the price at what these lamps should be selling for, that would draw less attention. I actually went for one of these good offers last month, very similar but it wasn't from China from what I could tell. Brand new stove, I won't say what it was, I'm some what ashamed of my self for trying to buy one. The seller started the listing with perhaps 10 available, as the day went on the listing kept getting updated with more and more as they just kept selling, at one point I saw 24 had been sold. Eventually Ebay removed the listing and suspended the sellers account. I still had to go through the full process to get my refund back though, all good now.
The same seller hasn't other itms fors ale. So we have to mark our pictures with NO EBAY or NOT FOR SALE ???
I did think of offering him a pound but then thought it would probably end up being too much trouble.
I suspect that is around the maximum payment they can receive from Paypal without having their account frozen until the buyer confirms receipt of the item by leaving positive feedback.
This looks dodgy:- tilley lamp swan i think with 182 glass. | eBayp | eBay ...and this:- VINTAGE PAIR TILLEY LAMPS TL106 TL11 TABLE LAMPS VERY GOOD POLISHED w | eBay
Looks like it can be a veritable mine field out there in eBay land .......... I have purchased some good stuff off eBay and to date only had one disappointment where they pork pie lamp purchased in England was declared a restricted item for movement to Aussie and the sale fell through. eBay refunded me, no worries. Cheers Peter
