Enamelling Brass Hood Caps

    Hi James, Yeah, saw them and if they are half decent quality they are a bargain at the price. Does anyone have any experience of them yet? Seems that my efforts have stopped short of achieving an enamel finish! No worries eh :) . Still making the brass ones though :D/ . Steve

    Yes, I obtained one of those hood caps. The colour doesn't exactly match the original one that I have, the old one is more yellowish, the new one more orange. The quality is good, only some very small black spots on the orange side, surely traces from the black enamelled underside, their size is as if you use a tooth brush to spray tiny spots of colour on a surface, but the amount of those spots isn't serious, so nothing to worry about. It seems the hood was hung through the hole during the enamelling process and there is a small trace in the black enamel close to the center hole where the wire hook was fitted. All in all a very decent quality enamelled hood for small money, a bargain :thumbup:

    There are two colours I've seen on the originals - yellow and orange. I call them Korma and Tikka Masala because that's what they remind me of... :p
