Since Chris is interested in these lamps, maybe some other out there are also. Here it is lit up with a shade that is probably not genuine to the lamp. The lamp was made by Coleman, and branded Everbright, sold by Sears Canada. There were 556 of them made and shipped out of the Coleman plant in Toronto between 1930 and 1933. Here is the info printed on the bottom. The "spot" on the fount is the reflection of the bottom of the burner and shade. Stan

Thank you Stan. Images of the example in my collection, in its present condition prior to beginning the restoration, can be seen in the Reference Gallery at your original post. This example has been painted Black over the original Blue finish of the [handle]. Any information as to the age of these models and their period of manufacture would be greatly appreciated. Dr. Marsh's site has this model listed in the "Coleman Lamps before mid 1920's" section. I have also learned that they may have been made into the early 1930's. Chris W - Winnipeg, Canada
I don't have much info on Canaian Sears lamps. This lamp is not marked as a Coleman although from its parts there is little doubt it has to be. However they are generally marked in the base with - "Everbrite EB. Made in Canada by Everbrite Lamp Co. Toronto". The implication is that this is Everbrite not Ever-Brite and it is model EB. This model is certainly not illustrated in the American Sears catalogues so it is not one of the Ever-Brite models listed there. Coleman made? Probably but in the PLC I list products by brand and this one has to be listed as an Everbrite. I have not yet seen it illustrated in any Sears catalogue and whilst I think it probably was sold by Sears as yet I have no evidence of that. If anyone out there does have it showing in any adverts I would be very interested to see them. ::Neil::

Should be beginning the restoration and cleaning in a couple of weeks - usually when I begin a new restoration, I'll start researching the example as well. You need to look for Sears catalogues in the 1920s and perhaps early 1930s. This type of match lighting lamp was sold by Sears in the US up to about 1928 and the Ever-Brite Coleman was only sold for one year in 1927. However the Quick-Lite type of match light lamps may well have been sold for longer in Canada so your Everbrite may be from any time between say 1925 to 1935 ish. Find me some paper that shows it please. ::Neil::
