Finally found a 2/300 for a bargain locally which will now be the oldest of my Austramax collection (6). Coincided with the arrival of my new punch set and some 3mm viton sheet. Didn’t need much but the mud wasps cleaned out. Leather pump cup a soak in neatsfoot oil. Punched a new filler cap seal and NRV pip. Quick generator clean and refit. No bail so reproduced one from 4mm brass rod, fencing pipe and paint tins do make good bending jigs after all. Used a donor globe, will have to sort something more period matching and the right mantle too. The previous owner had it in storage for 30yrs. Nice to see it come back to life.
The enamel on the hood looks to be very good. Nice find. You did very well with the handle. The shape looks almost perfect. How about one in stainless.
