A friend of mine gave me a large quantity of Primus or Optimus generators for lanterns, apparently they were in the back room of a Peruvian hardware store and he believes they are from the late 40's. The cardboard tubes have the following numbers: 100-107 and # 6831, there are at least 90 generators in the box, anyone has an idea of what models they may belong to? I am very stoked about them
I know they are odd generators, but I would like to actually know what were the intended models that used them.
Why do you say Primus or Optimus? The numbers sound like Primus and/or Radius but the design is more reminiscent of American AGM generators.
That part number 100-107 has to be Sunflame. I can't find that exact part in the Sunflame paper I have but generator part No 100-106 is listed and the outer shape is identical. So the shape is Sunflame but the pricker is different and looks very like the type used in Akron Instant-Glo generators. Sunflame lanterns are pretty much evolutions of Akron model 400 so using an Akron type pricker seems reasonable in Sunflame product. ::Neil::
I have been looking for answers around and it seems to be a Sunflame generator, I would love to verify this as I have never seen one in person, ( Thanks Carlsson for the edit, I had no idea) I have so many I will have to unload them eventually.
After much searching, I have come to believe they are Sun Flame generators, possibly for the models 105, 106, 107 and 112, interesting find, the sad part is I have never seen a sun Flame lantern in person, I wonder if anyone can post measurements of their sun flame generator so I can verify for sure?.
Picked up a Sunflame 107 earlier today.....the lower section of the generator is 3/8" wide, height is just about 4"
