. Back from Germany, very nice meeting, nice people, many facinating lanterns. My pictures will follow as a Photobucket slideshow,As usual Photobucket do not want to place the pictures in the order i want, tryed to move them but gave up, will try again. If anyone that is in the pictures and dont want to be, let me know and i will delete the picture. http://s546.photobucket.com/albums/hh437/jukka_t/Grobe%20Lampentreffen%20Soltau%20June%202012/?albumview=slideshow SL! Jukka
Nice photos Jukka. Looks like it was a good meeting. There are a couple of pictures of what appears to be a Primus 1082S. At the top is from one. Was this a real 1082S or just a wayward top?
. This lantern was owned by Jürgen A, he asked me if this was a "orginale lampe" and i could not tell him if it was (did not know), i promiced to get back to him with some more info, so im glad you asked :-) Lantern did not have a placards (google translate for plakat) on the supportring, and there where no S after 1082 on the tank. So what do you think, it is a "orginale lampe" ?? SL! Jukka
Jukka, You beat me ! I will make a picture page too here is a teaser for the UK boys: t is said that there where 8-10 made. Nobody knows why or better for what purpose. It is to slow for following aircrafts. And you normally don't light up your battle ground.... 3 Are known in musea this is the fourth so there are still 4-6 out there. There would be swiss. This lamp is found by "acident" by Mischa and Chriss. It is in Jim Dick's Tilley book but beside the tank and vaporizer there is no marking Tilley any where found (yet)
Did you notice what year it was from? The only difference between the S model and the normal 1082 is the label on the collar, the top, and the jet and needle. It is possible that the label has fallen off at some time (the lantern looks well used) or it could be that an S top has found it's way onto a normal 1082 (I have bought a normal 1082 with an S top before). There's a bit more information on the model in the reference gallery. Until now I have only heard of three 1082S lanterns so would be very interested to know of more.
I already can't edit my post .... But anyway here is the link to the pictures taken by my brother: http://licht.petromax.nl
All other pictures of the 12th international pressure lamp meeting in Soltau Germany 2012 are on line too.
