Hi everbody! This is my HASAG 351 L as Wehrmacht version in very good condition. Manufactured approx. in 1943, but bought this week. Best regards from Switzerland!
New Old Stock, very nice. Would you please tell us about the yellow and orange HASAG decal. 1) What is the size of the decal? Just the width would be fine. 2) Is the decal attached only to the front of the tank or attached to the back too?
The 351L was made in several versions: with dark grey lacquered tank as can be seen in this post, but also with olive green lacquered, bright tin-plated, and even with nickel plated tank. The top cap was always near black enamel, and the inner chimney and the wind shield around it were mostly blue/grey enamel but also made from nickel plated brass. I have at least 5 different versions here in my collection, and in addition several models made later by VEB Leipziger Werke in GDR. It is partly difficult to distinguish the versions made by Hasag before the war from versions made shortly after the war, because many parts were identical. It is only certain that hardly any lanterns were manufactured by Hasag during the war, as production was almost completely switched to weapons and ammunition.
