Hi All, This is the first time I've used this site for help, so bear with me. I've recently purchased these 2 Tilley table lamps. Am I right in saying that they are TL 136 's? The only information printed on the bottom is Made in England and the letter P. They stand approx. 16 1/2 inches tall. Also is everything correct about them. Does anyone know the colour for these? Many thanks in anticipation, Tom.
Welcome aboard! Those lamps are from the 1950's and they are both model TL 136 and they should restore well enough.
That’s a really lovely pair @Madcollector. Seems like everything is as it should be and a good clean up should have them looking stunning. The cream enamel finish on the tanks just needs a gentle wipe with warm soapy water and the globes a good wash. Whether you want to have the brass bits shining is up to you.
Sound advice from @Jean J . If you really feel the need to renew the paintwork, Arrum Beige (as used on Rover cars) is the nearest you'll get to the original finish.
Thank you all for the nice welcome and good advice. Can I ask another question please. Does the brass column unscrew or is it soldered to the fount? Many thanks, Tom.
