Good evening! The fine folks over at CCS recommended I post this question here, and I'd really appreciate any help you'd be willing to give.

I spotted this lantern at a swap meet and even though I didn't recognize it, snapped it up due to it's unusual size - it's enormous! There is a "two adults and child" symbol and some Asian writing on one side of the font and on the other is "CAP. 2500 C.C." and "NO. 2500". I'm assuming this means model number 2500 and that this model holds 2500 cc's of fuel. I easily believe 2.5L of fuel, this thing is ginormous. No markings on the filler cap or wick knob. Looks to use a standard 7/8" wick, the fuel cap has a large filler opening with a rubber seal and a retention chain on a spring clip into the font.

I've attached photos of the markings, a comparison photo beside a Dietz Jupiter(note the font sizes, both lanterns are against the wall) and a couple Aladdin 23's, then an overview of the lantern cleaned up, and finally burning.

Thank you for any help you're willing to give, I really appreciate it. If anyone would like a photo of a specific part of the lantern, please just ask.

    Hi Marc!

    Welcome to CPL

Hopefully will be one or two here who will be able to give advice with your happy lantern as a few of us also have one or two wick type lamps and heaters about the place

    Best wishes

I have a few of the old roadworks/skip type lamps, a few old railway lamps,
Think I prefer the industrial/commercial side of life generally

My next door neighbour has two red telephone boxes in his garden along with a pillar box (long story).

I want a railway semaphor signal in mine. That will give me somewhere to put the L.M. signal lamp. (No comments as where I ought to put it please!)

I have wickies. (But not am not a wickaholic).

Marc might want to peruse this thread:

Thanks for the input, folks. That thread will take me awhile to get through.

Off to the same swap meet. Might have more questions when I get back!

    Thanks again.
