The fount was full of the nastiest black stinky tar I have ever seen. Lye and citric finally broke it loose. just a sponge bath to the fount.
Wow nice work ! Even bigger then the big tank petromax ;-) What is the normal light duration time ? And do you have to keep pumping ? Or does the raise of temperature keep the pressure high enough.
The run time on these was supposedly 50 hours, per an 1925 Coleman advertisement. I believe it hold 5 quarts. The frame support had an asbestos rope wound around inside under the burner tight. It was to filter dust and dirts from getting into the burner in the poultry house. And the rope would absorb any inadvertent fuel from dripping down and causing a fire. It was so filthy I didnt reinstall it. Thanks for the atta boys. I dont want to clean the fount much more, so it can stay original. Not many left with legible writing I would imagine.
