Some twenty years ago a friend of mine who was a ardent lamp collector including many pressure types used to have a lamp party around this time of the year whilst it was still fairly mild but dark in the evening. Everyone had to bring a lamp to light and was treated to barbecue style food.I attended these several times with his marvelous collection on display in a room of the house.Sadly he passed away some years ago and the collection was disposed of by his widow.At this time of the year I often think of those light filled evenings we used spend in his garden.
