Hi all, wanted to share one of out annual camping trips we take around april. We have a national holiday and we take advantage of it . warning lots of pics This time it was a 4 day trip to the dead sea area. as it is mostly a desert area we expected a warm weather to our great surprise it was raining the whole first day the parks authority issued flood warning to all streams and ravines. if some of you are not familiar with deserts floods or flash floods this is quite a phenomena. The desert sand doesn't soak up water quickly, so heavy rains can produce flood conditions very quickly and without warning. Dry channels, ditches will fill quickly and the water can be strong and violent. So no hiking on the first day, we deiced to go to an archeological site that the dead sea scrolls were found on , Qumran. But the reserve was mostly closed because... floods very disappointed and wet from the rain in the Deseret we started back to the cars until we spotted something of a life time a flood , here are the pics this is the ravine itself after that we went to the camp site I took 4 lanterns and 3 stoves with me Lanterns- Coleman 247,249 and petromax 827,821B Stoves - optimus 111, 111T and a svea 123 for hiking here are some pics for the eve the view we had from our camping ground my good friend on the BBQ and pics that do not need any explanation the second day was dedicated to a small reserve that has a natural spring, you cannot go in without a reserve guide here is a pic: the next day was dedicated for a bit more hiking as much as you can do with 3year old toddlers: and me and my 3year old doing some climbing these are 7~12m walls and no hike is complete without tea and some locals the last day was a short hike in the mountains near jerusalem and tea not a lot of words and I hope not to much pics if you have any questions just fire away
