    Hi All
    Hi
its been ages since I have been on the site as well (posted on CSS as well :) ) DSC_7655.jpg DSC_7657.jpg
I am all well been chasing other interests , but doing well and missing the hobbies from time to time.
I am still a heavy user but handling my addiction with other bad habits.

the reason I am writing is that I was approached by a researcher in the Israel Antiquities Authority

    here is a translated version:

    Shalom,

My name is Assaf Peretz and I work in the Israel Antiquities Authority.
About three years ago, in a dig near Ramla run by my colleague, Ron Touag, many remains from World War I were discovered, the period I am investigating.
The headlines in the press talked mostly about the many bottles of alcohol, but the findings in this excavation are many and varied and one of them can fit into the field you are interested in.
הפתעה ברמלה: מאות בקבוקי אלכוהול ממלחמת העולם ה-1
(Sorry for the link in Hebrew)

I am attaching some pictures of the item that we are not sure about with this part of a lamp, burner or cooking facility.

I would love if you could help us identify the item

I do think its a blow touch but I am sure one of the more experienced member can identify exactly which one :)

    Welcome back, Doron.

I certainly can’t identify it, but it does look blow torch or a cooking stove arrangement.

    Cheers

    Tony

Doron, my guess is "part of a carbide lamp". Image 7665 really looks like the corroded bottom of the water tank of a carbide lamp... But its a guess only.
