Looking for any info, photos etc for this lamp. Not seen any complete photos on the web, I do know it is missing fancy scroll gussets, top smoke bell, glass/globe etc. Is pressure gas lamp. Any help on this Bystrom lamp would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob

I know almost nothing about the Bystrom company. I can tell you this lamp has been modified with a Knight Light model KK burner. Looks like the original centre fitting has been removed and the burner, handle and bell cover from a KK screwed in. The "Handle" part looks short so the inner stem has probably been shortened and re threaded to fit the unit inside the frame. ::Neil::
So been a year since I first posted asking for info and thought I would get out the Bystrom to see if I could figure it out. I actually left it out in the carport for the past year. House is just too full of lamps, lanterns! Anyways, a year has past and I reread Mackburner's notes about the burner being a Knight Light Model KK and now it makes sense. I had taken off the shade support and incorrectly attached the burner to the two supports. I put the shade support back on but attached it to the supports and that enabled the burner tubes to hang where they should without interference. I did a citric acid bath on all the burner parts and filler plug, cleaned up the inside of the font and did a very minor wipe to get the dirt off the outside of the font, (looks like copper?). Did not remove or over polish as I suspect this is at least 100 years old, making it my oldest pressure gas lamp. Anyways, pumped it up and it holds pressure, and the on/off valve works as it should. Put a 10 inch glass shade I had on it and it looks not too bad. I think a green shade will look better and a brass smoke bell to finish it off and call her done (too bad it is missing it's fancy metal scroll work on the supports). I don't think I will ever find the proper burner for this lamp nor will I likely find the font parts for the Knight Light KK, so I'll just leave it as a Frankenlamp.
