Practice run went well this morning. Weather has changed here and may have to light up in the garage later tonight.

Ray, please identify everyone in earlier picture.

Don't know if it was officially dusk but it had been raining heavily for a couple of hours so was quite dark.

 

Looks like Saturday morning weather would have been challenging but that it should have been fine for the evening and the 50 for the 50th light up.

How many were there lit on site after all please? I hope at least 50 - excellent if there were many more.

It was very annoying I could not be there with my 50th birthday one. Instead I did what I could - before dusk I made sure that it was burning and I kept it going until at least midnight - it's still running in after recent fettling.

How about starting a tally of how many were on site and how many others going + where in the world. That might turn out quite a surprise

 

It would have been, it was - and there were 41(ish!)

Super pics and great displays. Pity you didn't quite reach the 50 for the light-up but you must have had fun doing it.

 

Yes 9 short in the end but it was just a bit of fun. Plenty of desperate fettling going on that afternoon...

 

Here is the 246B light up in Canberra with Jim D's Red example on Saturday evening the other 2 chrome examples test lit but had bad leak from valve glands so no mantles were fitted.

 

It's good to see some members were with us in spirit if not in body

I'm waiting for 'Blue Flame' over at CCS to post his pics (that's if he intends to post them ), he looked mighty professional taking his time setting his camera ( the David Bailey type ) on a tripod in front of each pitch.
