Today is market day here in Market drayton so I was wondering round as you do and as I passed a charity shop something caught my eye being nosey as I am I looked closer and found this, it works perfectly fine holds pressure and had a few bits with it inc a spanner, myths tin, and a couple of mantles and instruction booklet all for the princely sum of £25 anyway I thought I would share it with you here. So 1 question has anyone got any idea on it's age? Its a 930. 300 CP
Photograph? Optimus 930s were the economy version but oddly enough, they seem to go for big money on eBay. When you light it, you might find you need to add 10% Coleman fuel, panel wipe, Aspen alkylate petrol, naphtha or something similar to the kero...
That looks to be in very good condition. A nice find. As to age, that variation was made all through the 1960s and 70s so it's a bit hard to be more precise than that.
Yes its in excellent condition for its age and I can't believe I paid so little, it was only by chance I was passing the shop and noticed it on the counter, from what I can gather it was donated the day before and they were about to put it out when I asked was it for sale? you can imagine how happy I was when they said yes, the 2 people in the shop then worked out between them how much to charge me and asked if I was happy to pay £25 which I was.
Not that I know of. All the parts were identical for almost 20 years. They had a good cheap product, so why change it. I think the box and label might have changed over that time but I havn't seen enough of them to know. The only change that happened after this variation was a different filler cap and they introduced the brass version.
