Optimus 1550

Hi guys and girls! I have bought an Optimus but i don't know what model it is. Here comes the pictures.

You have an Optimus 1550. This is the last version which used parts bought in and assembled in Sweden. The tank, globe cage and outer hood that were still made in Sweden, but I have heard they were sourced from a sub contractor and not made by Optimus themselves.. It is assumed that the parts were bought from Hipolito. IIRC they are from the early 90s.

 

And it is alive!

Hi there! perhaps you can help me. I have the exact same model as you, it was from my dad's. I would like to know if you can help me with a doubt I have regarding one part of the lamp. Where I am pointing... is this complete?? I think it needs an extra part to correctly clog the part that releases the flameable gas on the top.

 

Hi. Is missing a thin wire in the top, that is the thing what unclogs.see the picture.

A cleaning needle for a Petromax 500cp lamp will fit and work. That might be easier for you to find near where you live.
