Hi guys. I have been given an Optimus 1551 500cp lantern that is in extremely good condition, and I'd say has seen little to no use, but at some point in its life it's globe/glass has been broken. Any ideas of where I could obtain a replacement glass from? After some hours of plucking up courage, and being egged on by a mate, I decided to have a go at lighting it. First attempt failed due to a stuck NRV, that was very easily sorted. The second attempt was frightening as I had never used a "quick start" device before. With the quick start device open and lit, it roared like a blow lamp. I was fair pumping to maintain the recommended 2kg of pressure on the pressure indicator. After about one minute of this, the lamp came to life and ran semi ok for a bit then petered out. I relit after a few minutes using the spirit cup and it fired up easily. Now the quick start device has decided to stop working, but suspect that the jet orifice is blocked. I'll follow the instruction book details on how to clean it. Just need to find a glass for it now and she'll be good to go.
