Hi fellas, I have an Optimus 200P table lamp.
As received it had a modified globe frame, someone had gone to great lengths to fit a bulged Coleman globe.
I have set about returning it back to the straight sided table lamp it once was.

    as found.
I set about thinking on how to convert it back to a straight sided frame.
With limited resources I looked in my useful box and have a number of unused 1A Aladdin brass pump rods. IMG_3444.jpeg
I measured up and my creativity sets in.
I have trial and error a few bits and I know it’s going to go together.

After much measuring and double checking I’ve decided to cut two pump rods at 100mm and two rods leaving what is the pump cup end at 115mm.

This allows the rod to pass up through the bale / hood keeper screws.

I have a small lathe that I used to machine/cut down the diameter to pass through the bale holder and to be able to use the threaded end brass nut .
The 100mm rods I drilled and tapped M4x.7 thread on each end and the ends of the bale rods.

Having done the bale rods and frame rods I re assemble the frame.

I’m very impressed with my fettling skills set and I start to rebuild the table lamp.

mum very happy how I’ve converted the lamp back to original straight sides.
    And now here’s a money shot. It’s a very bright lamp. IMG_3460.jpeg IMG_3461.jpeg IMG_3465.jpeg

It's a good repair making use of other parts.
