Finally getting around to fettling my X246 pork pie tilley. As per all my lamps, its going to be a "working" lamp as opposed to a "Shelf Queen". This time I dont want to polish the tank but paint it as close to the original colour as I can. I'm going to use a car paint rattlecan (probably halfords). Any recommendations please? -is there a close match at all e.g. "ford gold"? or will pound shop paint be just as good?

Plastikote enamel aerosol can No. 39 'Brass'. Obtainable from the likes of B&Q but probably cheaper elsewhere...

Vauxhall antique gold looks nice, its nothing like the original though.
I have posted pictures of a pork pie on here somewhere painted in that, the choice is yours.
