Hi All I restoring PETROMAX 822 and I have a problem with a valve, I've disassembled everything but I do not understand how the valve close fuel? I'm not sure if these are all parts, or I miss something. I have other PETROMAX lamps but they have a valve in the tank.
Hi Dino, this is the old style vapouriser without valve, the wheel is to operate the cleaning needle. Petromax lamps that have a rapid pre heater have a valve at the lower end of the vapouriser that closes the fuel pickup tube when using the rapid, else paraffin would get out of the jet when pressurizing the fount to preheat the lamp. The old style lamps are preheated using a meths cup.
