Good evening, just bought a 828E from local boot sale, can any body help me with a few things

1 How old is it can not find any markings on the bottom of the tank.

2 The jet has 300cp on which mantels should I use.

3 Are most of the spare parts the same for all models.

4 There is no meths dish should it have one and if so is the modern type suitable.

    Please see pictures

    Thanks

That style of rapid pre-heater was used between 1935 to 1939. Early lanterns so equipped did not have a spirit cup but I'm sure a modern one will fit.
    A 350 mantle should be O.K.
Spares like jet and needle are specific to models - 250cp, 350cp, 500cp - but pump leather, seals for the filler cap and pump NRV etc. and graphite packing for the valve stems are common to all models.

    Henry.

Tjts the very old turn lever rapid torch. 30ties i guess. You'll find somewhere a table to determine age from the rapid torch.
If 30ties you should cautiously polish the fount bottom. And might find scratchings of two 1-2 digit numbers with dash in between. Thats month and year of production.
    Modern spirit cup should work.
    For 300cp unse 300cp mantle.
Spare parts will in most cases be compatible to modern 829 PX lantern. Except possibly the clay burner. Which has different thread nowadays.
