Petromax 829 Rapid

    This lantern is my only Petromax, as they are rare in New Zealand. I am told that this variant has a rare globe cage made in 1956 - 1958. This type of globe cage isn't found very often and is called in German "Sicke" after the indentation = "Sicke" in the tank.
    Photos show the condition I acquired it in and after restoration.

    Yes these are not common. Made after April 1954 and before August 1956. Always a good working lamp and this one loks pretty good. ::Neil::

    A fine looking job. I have one in a similar condition, how did you go about cleaning the dull tank and hood?
