Petromax all or part

I picked up this Petromax lantern but after starting to take it a part I'm thinking that it is not all Petromax. Can anyone tell me if these are all Petromax or not. on the bottom of the font is stamped 886057

 

Some one will tell you more than I know, but what I can say is that is an Amish modified Petromax. There are others on this forum somewhere and I've also seen them on the Coleman collectors forum.

That's some concoction. Pump handle and the wheel are not original to the font as is the frame.

 

Yes I thought the pump handle was wrong. It looks like the pump from a single burner stove. It did not come with a globe so I have no idea what I need. Thank You Matthew92 for the link. The lantern in the pictures definitely shows a different globe. What I don't like is the vent is just pushed on and nothing holds it in place. Turn the lantern over and the vent will fall off and maybe that's why my vent is all banged up.

 

Hello, The vent is normally held in place by a thumb screw on either side of the frame, which also holds the bail arm / handle.

 

Hello, it's a chinese tank ( 11 rays on the sun, and 6 digits on the bottom ).
the pump handle seems ok. I have the same on a Petromax 250CP.

 

I believe the globe from a Coleman 237 is what would fit these. The parts on your lamp may not be correct for a Petromax as supplied from themselves, but they are probably all as fitted by the Amish. I see the little valve soldered on the side of the tank, so that's correct. If the tank is a Chinese manufactured one, then the original pump was probably a type using 'O' rings instead of the leather cup, so that would no doubt be one of the things that got swapped out.

 

KAB with this Amish version there are no screws to hold the vent in place and the handle on. There are two holes in the top frame where the ends of the handle slide in but nothing is there to hold the vent in place. Also the tube inside the vent and the generator are bent as well. Not sure why that is but it makes the nozzle come down on a slight angle. The pump has a leather cup and when oiled up it works fine. As to a Coleman 237 that is on my wish list as is a globe for my Aladdin 1A(it came with a globe but was cracked and glued from top to bottom)
