Hi - all. My new HK500 seems to be leaking kerosene from somewhere but only when under pressure. I noticed a small amount under the lamp after using it. Any ideas?
Rob, empty all the kerosene out, pressurize the tank, then have a bucket of water handy to submerge the whole tank to see where any air bubbles show a leak
Hi! To submerge in a bucket of water is a reliable method. If You want, check if it comes fuel from the control wheel area maybe?
After using: do you keep the pressure up or is the pressure released? Best practice is to keep the valve open, needle down and by doing so the tank is pressureless. Due to temperature and air pressure fuel in the vaporiser can then find its way into the tank instead of leaking through the jet.
