So looking at these I see the advice on the original petromax literature is to replace the clay burner with a stainless one, but offers no reason why. Does anyone have an idea or kowledge on this ?
The current clay nozzles is extremely brittle and tends to crumble at the slightest provocation. I can't see how something that flimsy can bear the additional weight of a double tie holder since it uses the clamping action of the mixing chamber and nozzle when threaded in.
The reason is: sell an extra stainless steel burner plus the mantle support. No technical reason at all. Both parts are ... well, indeed, not needed for anything at all. Erik
