Porkpie Pump or a Frankie ?

I can't imagine them changing anything, especially for the domestic market, during the war so my guess (note, guess) would be that the inside springs continued throughout WW2 and changed to the outside just after the war, maybe in 1946 when other new models e.g. X246 pork-pie appeared. But generally, inner springs are pre-war and outer springs are post-war seems to be correct...

 

Thankyou only reason i ask is so i can set up my lamps near factory condition. Ive only ever seen the gallery springs on the outside unless someone changed that for personal preference.

Im in love with this style of lamp, porks as in table lamps are my favourite.

Still interested in the roll out dates and factory gallery’s fitted.

Without the factory diaries, I don't think we'll ever know. I doubt these still exist and were probably dumped in the skip with a whole load of other paperwork when the factory moved from Hendon over to Dunmurry (or perhaps on the move back to England in 2000 or other subsequent moves).

If you're interested in pork-pie tanked models, almost certainly these will have been fitted with outer springs...
