    Does anybody happen to know what the thread is on the cage fixing studs? I think it is 5/16" Whitworth But it does not seem quite right.

    I think I may have identified the stud thread. It is possibly 5/16" BSC (British Standard Cycle). This is 20 TPI. The stud is a bit short to measure the pitch with enough precision using a rule. I don't have/can't find my thread gauges. If anyone knows better please let me know, i want to be sure I have the right thread.
