I have a question about Tilley's late XN cock that does not come with a hex nut.

I recently noticed this when replacing the rubber gasket on my PL53 that I got over 10 years ago. My PL53 is provably from around 1938 plus or minus.
This topic may have already been covered in this discussion forum, but I couldn't find the thread.
Please take a look at the photos.

I think a late XN cock normally has a hex nut opposite the gland nut, but this one does not.
I don't know much about this variant.
It could be that someone took it apart and soldered it back together without the hex nut at some point in its life. (I'm skeptical about this assumption, though).

If anyone has any information on the late XN cock that does not come with a hex nut, please advice.

    Best regards,
    Shinzo

Here are another 2 that are the same as yours, it's not uncommon as I have 7 like that.
