I was having a very difficult fettle with a stove that would not cooperate, and had put it aside numerous times to ease my frustration. I decided that some distraction, a diversion, was nessecary in order to preserve my sanity, and to help dissipate the blue cloud which had gathered overhead. So I found this tea gadget in the kitchen, and thought it would make a good filter - Once every 50 years or so, one finds an item that needs to be topped up, but has a very small filler hole, and is very hard to access. So....I knocked up these 'funnels', to be ready for the next time. They are both prototypes, of course, or Mk 1 models. The filter, er, didn't take. Maybe next time. The small one has a 10 degree offset and a straight pipe; the bigger one, of copper, has an offset cranked outlet pipe. No symmetry here. The therapy worked, as I was able to complete the cantankerous stove. Cheers.
And speaking of tea, I was not aware that tea is grown in Yorkshire. (See the tea bag above). I would have thought that the climate there, and the accent, were only suitable for those legendary Jowett twins, and Scott motorcycles. Cheers. Time for a cuppa.
@Paul Aslanides . Hello Paul. How have you been. Your small funnels are very cool. Very practical. Our obsession with fettling can become frustrating but rewarding in the end.
@Darryl Durdin Thanks, Darryl. Been busy with U3A. @Henry Plews Thanks, Henry. I only know that Bradford and Shipley are towns in Yorkshire; didn't know that Cleckheaton was there too. Interesting history, Phelon & Moore. Quite a character, that Mr. Phelon. I haven't seen a big thumper on the road for many years. I believe Suzuki, or was it Yamaha ?, recently brought out a big thumper too. I still miss my CB Bradford, of 1948.
